Cyclone - with a canopy or with a return spiral?

Cyclones with a return spiral are provided for where there is a return of air to the production hall.
This has a number of advantages, primarily the lack of heat loss due to the ejection of heated air outside and the absence of dust around the cyclone (especially important when there are residential buildings nearby).

Cyclones with a return spiral can be used in two ways:

  • Cyclone with return spiral in a set with a filter - the cyclone works as the first (coarse) stage of separation, and then a filter station is connected behind the cyclone, catching the remaining fine particles.
  • Cyclone with return spiral working in a closed loop - in some cases it is possible to return the air back to the process machine from which the material is extracted. Then it is not necessary to use a filter station, and investment and operating costs are much lower. Feel free to contact us - we will consider your case individually.

Canopy cyclones are not designed to work with a filter and there is no possibility of returning air to the production hall. They are readily used for sawdust extraction from unheated rooms and where chips or wet sawdust are transported. It should be borne in mind that no cyclone has 100% dust removal efficiency and the use of canopy cyclones involves some dusting of the cyclone area (negligible with wet sawdust and shavings, significant with very fine dry sawdust and dust).
