In the case of pumping a very wet medium, there is often a situation where working elements made of structural steel quickly corrode. The resulting oxide layer is quickly worn away by the solid particles present in the medium, exposing the raw steel, which again corrodes and the erosion process continues. To prevent this, fans made of stainless steel are used. The primary applications for such fans are the extraction of steam and dust from the pellet cooler (or the aspiration of dust from the entire pellet production line) and the transportation of wet waste in the recycling industry.
